Landskrona Port

Landskrona Hamn AB is a modern port and stevedoring company. We provide port and stevedoring services to customers within and outside the port area. Our focus is on efficient and rational handling of primarily bulk goods. In addition to unloading and loading ships, we also offer warehouse and terminal operations. We have a strategically good location in southern Sweden where the port is ice-free and close to other infrastructure, motorways and railways. Possibility of inbound and outbound transport 24 hours a day. To help us, we have 4 mobile folding jib cranes that can operate along our 1100 meter quay, a belt conveyor for dust-free unloading to silos and ship unloaders.

History

The port is already mentioned around 1200 in the Danish history work written at that time by Saxo Grammaticus. In 1413, Landskrona received its city privileges, precisely thanks to the good port conditions.

In 1658, Scania became Swedish through the Peace of Roskilde. Immediately after the end of the war, the Privy Councillor Krister Bonde, on behalf of King Charles X Gustav, undertook an inspection trip to, as it was called, “assess the condition of the Scanian provinces”. In the Privy Councillor’s report to the king, the following could be read about the county crown Hamn: “A port such as this is hardly to be found.”

During the 19th century, the foundation for today’s industrial port was laid with the production of mineral fertilizers in Landskrona. The ability to accommodate larger and more ships during the 20th century became increasingly important and the port has been expanded in several stages. The production of fertilizers ceased in 1992, but the port has continued to develop along with many more customers and types of goods.

In our harbor area, we also have Öresunds Drydocks, which repairs ships. Read more on their website, https://oddab.eu/
